biografische gegevens van johnny tillotson JOHNNY TILLOTSON is een Amerikaanse zanger die in 1937 wordt geboren. Reeds op zeer jeugdige leeftijd raakt hij in de wereld van de showbiz verzeild. De 'Nashville Pet Milk Talent Contest' levert nationale bekendheid voor Johnny op. In 1958 komt Johnny Tillotson onder contract te staan bij Cadence records. Het betekent het begin van van een reeks hitnoteringen in de charts. In 1960 is Johnny een heus tieneridool. Johnny Tillotson heeft zijn voorliefde voor country nooit onder stoelen of banken gestoken. In 1962 neemt hij een aantal countrynummers op, die ook allemaal weer prima zullen verkopen. Zelfs Elvis zal later een van Johnny's nummers coveren. Na 1963 neemt de populariteit van Johnny Tillotson af.
