biografische gegevens van colosseum Colosseum wordt in 1969 opgericht door het duo Jon Hiseman en Dick Heckstall-Smith, die voorheen bij de Graham Bond Organisation en bij John Mayall hadden gespeeld. De andere leden van de groep zijn Dave Greenslade, Tony Reeves en Dave 'Clem' Clempson. DAVE CLEMPSON: gitaar DICK HECKSTALL-SMITH: fluit DAVE GREENSLADE: keyboards TONY REEVES: bas JON HISEMAN: drums De groep speelt vnl. instrumentale jazzrock. In 1970 voegt Chris Farlowe zich ook nog bij de band en in 1971 bassist Mark Clarke, maar in 1971 valt ze uit elkaar, om in 1975 nog een vervolg te krijgen in Colosseum II.
