biografische gegevens van gary moore Gary Moore is een Ierse hardrock- en bluesgitarist. We komen hem voor het eerst tegen in het Dublin van 1968, waar hij op 16-jarige leeftijd de experimentele rockgroep Skid Row opricht. Reeds in deze tijd speelt hij samen met mensen als Phil Lynott en Eric Bell. In 1971 verlaat Gary de groep Skid Row, om toe te treden tot de folkgroep Dr. Strangely Strange, om vervolgens de Gary Moore Band op te richten. Met de laatste groep maakt hij in 1973 een lp. In 1975 treedt Gary Moore toe tot de jazzrock- formatie Colosseum II, een band waar de scepter gehanteerd wordt door Jon Hiseman en waarmee Gary drie lp's maakt. Vanaf 1978 vinden we Gary Moore terug bij de Ierse hardrockgroep Thin Lizzy. Al eerder was hij ingevallen voor Eric Bell, maar vanaf 1978 krijgt hij een vaste stek naast Phil Lynott. Een jaar later wordt een album gemaakt. Vervolgens formeert Gary in 1980 het project G-Force waarmee één album wordt gemaakt dat echter weinig succesvol is. Gary Moore begint vervolgens aan een gestage reeks solo-platen. We zien daarbij een accentverlegging van hardrock naar bluesrock. Zo maakt Gary in 1994 een CD met bassist Jack Bruce en drummer Ginger Baker als een soort Cream-reunie. De samenwerking gaat door het leven als BBM. Gary Moore heeft het nogal te pakken van de driemanschappen.
