biografische gegevens van husker du HUSKER DU is een Amerikaanse hardcoregroep uit Minneapolis. De groep bestaat uit: BOB MOULD: zang, gitaar GREG NORTON: bas, zang GRANT HART: drums, zang Husker Du debuteert in 1980 met de single Statues Het jaar daarop verschijnt de lp "Land speed record", een hardcore klassieker. In de volgende jaren slaat de groep aan het experimenteren met allerlei elementen uit folk en blues. Husker Du blijft tot eind jaren 80 bestaan. De groep weet een verbinding te leggen tussen hardcore en pop-gevoeligheid. Begin 1988 blijkt de groep zover uit elkaar gegroeid dat men ieder zijn eigen weg gaat. Grant Hart kan zich gaan toe leggen op pure popsongs. We vinden in de groep Nova Mob terug.
