biografische gegevens van queen QUEEN is een Engelse symfonische rockgroep die bestaat uit: FREDDIE MERCURY: zang .. = Frederick Bulsara BRIAN MAY: gitaar JOHN DEACON: bas ROGER TAYLOR: drums De eerste wapenfeiten van Queen stammen uit 1973 en 1974: de groep maakt enige lp's en treedt tot tweemaal toe op in het voorprogramma van de dan zeer populaire groep Mott the Hoople. Eind 1974 breekt Queen door bij het grote publiek met de single "Killer Queen". De groep heeft haar eigen stijl ontwikkeld, goed te horen op de volgende single "Bohemian Rhapsody". De groep borduurt nu enige jaren voort op het uitgezette stramien, maar het gaat toch langszaam bergafwaarts. Begin jaren '80 zien we dan solopogingen van Taylor en van May. Deze pogingen hebben weinig succes. Eind jaren '80 zien we een Queen die zichzelf probeert te vernieuwen. Er heersen echter interne meningsverschillen over de te volgen koers. Op het LIVE AID-concert laat Queen zich echter weer van haar beste kanten zien. Begin jaren '90 laat de groep nog maar weinig van zich horen. Freddie Mercury blijkt AIDS te hebben en hij sterft in 1992. Op een afscheidsconcert heffen de overgebleven leden van Queen de groep op. muziekbase #39 (You're so square) baby I don't care ...
