biografische gegevens van early bird EARLY BIRDS is een Nederlandse countrygroep die in 1963 in het Friese Akkrum wordt opgericht: HENK WARINGA: zang, gitaar SIEBREN BANGMA: zang, gitaar ALBERT VELD: bas KOENE PAULUSMA: drums In 1970 verandert de groep van naam: LITTLE BEN & HIS DRIVERS. Succes bleef uit en de groep viel snel uiteen. In 1975 worden de Early Birds weer in het leven geroepen. Ditmaal onder de naam EARLY BIRD. Men speelt nog steeds country en western en wel in de volgende bezetting: HENK WARINGA: zang, gitaar FRANSIEN JELLEMA: zang MARTIN KOOTJE: gitaar SJOERDJAN DE WIT: steel ALBERT VELD: bas AP BIJLSMA: drums Tot 1978 blijft de groep in dezelfde bezetting spelen. Dan richten 'nieuwkomers' Fransien, Martin en Sjoerdjan de groep NEW DEAL op. Early Bird begint aan een grote reeks nieuwe namen die deel gaan uitmaken van de groep: Karina Henssens / Harry Zijlstra / Meine Bruinsma / Janet Kelery / Leo Roodhof / Ronald Ligthart / Pieter Langius / Klaas Levinga / Karin Wieling / Bert Piek / Ronald Uiterwaal Met wisselend succes wordt een aantal albums uitgebracht, tot op 23 februari 1991 de groep haar laatste concert geeft. Het is stil tot 1994. In dat jaar horen we plotseling opnieuw van EARLY BIRD.
