biografische gegevens van long john baldry Long John Baldry begon zijn carriere rond 1960. In die beginperiode van de Engelse popmuziek werkt hij samen met Alexis Korner, Cyril Davies. Steampacket heet de groep die hij in 1965 samen met Rod Stewart, Julie Driscoll en Brian Auger opricht. Vòòr 1967 behoorde Long John tot de top van de Britse blues, maar in dat jaar maakt hij spectaculaire ommezwaai: hij gaat sentimentele liedjes voor de dames zingen.
