biografische gegevens van joni mitchell Joni Mitchell is een Canadese zangeres. Haar werkelijke naam luidt Roberta Joan Anderson. Haar vader was een luchtmachtofficier en Joni krijgt op 10-jarige leeftijd polio. Begin jaren '60 leert ze zichzelf gitaar spelen en vanaf 1964 werkte ze als zangeres in clubs in Toronto. In 1965 trouwt ze met Chuck Mitchell. Het huwelijk duurt maar kort. Intussen is Joni wel bekend geworden. Nummers van haar worden door bekende artiesten gespeeld, bv. door Fairport Convention. In 1968 debuteert Joni Mitchell. Haar debuut wordt door David Crosby geproduceerd. Er volgen nu in snel tempo nieuwe lp's. Rond 1975 gaat het werk van Joni Mitchell meer de richting van de jazz uit.
