biografische gegevens van leon russell Leon Russell wordt geboren in Oklahoma en speelt op 15-jarige leeftijd bij Jerry Lee Lewis al keyboards. Leon speelt in 1964 ook nog enige tijd bij de surfgroep The Marketts. Op zijn 17e vertrekt hij naar Los Angeles waar hij door Phil Spector wordt ingelijfd om te helpen bij het opzetten van de "Wall of Sound". In deze tijd ontpopt Russell zich als schrijver en arrangeur bij uitstek.
