biografische gegevens van dusty springfield Dusty Springfield is een Engelse popzangeres die in 1939 in Hampstead wordt geboren als Magy O'Brien. Het wordt al snel duidelijk dat Dusty goed kan zingen. Aan het eind van de jaren vijftig sluit zij zich aan bij de Lana Sisters. Hier blijft ze tot 1960. Dan vromt ze met haar broer Tom en met Tim Field het trio The Springfields. In 1963 vallen The Springfields uit elkaar en Dusty begint haar solo-carriere. Met de regelmaat van de klok verschijnen in de periode 1963-1968 haar singles in de Engelse hitparade. Dusty verwerft zich de bijnaam 'the blue-eyed soulsister'. In 1969 breekt een periode waar waarin Dusty het wat kalmer aan doet. Sporadisch verschijnt er nog wel eens een album. In 1987 lijkt de tijd rijp voor een comeback.
