biografische gegevens van within temptation Within Temptation is een Nederlandse metalgroep uit Gouda die in de zomer van 1996 wordt opgericht. In 1997 verschijnt het debuut "Enter". Robert Westerholt (gitaar) en Sharon den Adel (zang) bepalen voor een groot gedeelte het gezicht van deze 6mansformatie, die deathmetal met veel klassieke piano ten gehore brengt. De groep is in korte tijd tweemaal (1997 en 1998) op Dynamo Open Air te horen en in augustus 2000 is het de beurt aan Lowlands. Within Temptation is dan uitgegroeid tot een volwassen rockband, wat duidelijke bewezen wordt door "Mother Earth", en album uit 2000 waarop de groep bestaat uit: SHARON DEN ADEL: zang MICHIEL PAPENHOVE: gitaar ROBERT WESTERHOLT: gitaar MARTIJN WESTERHOLT: toetsen JEROEN VAN VEEN: bas IVAR DE GRAAF: drums In 2002 blijkt gitarist Papenhove vervangen te zijn door Ruud Jolie.
