biografische gegevens van van mccoy VAN MCCOY was een Amerikaans producer van soul- en discomuziek. Hij was oa. succesvol met Peaches & Herb, Brenda & the Tabulations, Presidents, Stylistics, Faith, Hope & Charity, David Ruffin en Melba Moore. Van McCoy bracht ook zelf lp's uit. In 1975 had hij zelfs een hit met "The Hustle", maar als producer en als songwriter had hij meer succes. De vaste studiomuzikanten waarmee McCoy werkt vormen in 1976 de groep Stuff.
