biografische gegevens van ayreon Ayreon is een symforock-project uit 1995, opgezet en ontwikkeld door multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen. Lucassen had voor hij aan Ayreon begon al in de hardrockgroepen Bodine (1982-1983) en Vengeance (1984-1992) gespeeld. Bovendien had hij in de jaren 1993-1994 geprobeerd onder de naam Anthony een solo-carriere op te starten. Toen dat mislukte was het de beurt aan Ayreon. Binnen het symfo-project Ayreon omringt Lucassen zich met een groot scala van gast-musici. Voor elk album weet hij wel nieuwe grote namen voor zijn plannen te strikken.
