biografische gegevens van walker brothers THE WALKER BROTHERS is een Amerikaanse popgroep die in 1965 van de USA naar Engeland verhuist omdat men in het thuisland geen succes heeft. NOEL SCOTT ENGEL: zang, bas .. = scott walker JOHN JOSEPH MAUS: zang, gitaar .. = john walker GARY LEEDS: drums In Engeland kent men wel succes. De muziek van de groep is beinvloed door de Spector Sound en de Amerikaanse jongens vallen goed in de smaak bij de Engelse meisjes. In de periode 1965-1967 scoort de groep een aantal hits, oa. 'the sun ain't gonna shine anymore'. Men werkt in deze tijd samen met producer JOHN FRANZ. Door ondelinge ruzies valt de groep in 1967 uit elkaar. De afzonderlijke leden besluiten tot een solocarriere, met weinig succes. In 1975 vindt een reunie plaats. In de muziek is er echter weinig veranderd met tien jaar eerder en in 1978 gaat The Walker Brothers voor een tweede maal met ruzie uiteen.
